Some of you may be thinking of buying a new laptop that falls into the category of 2-in-1 or convertible laptops, which can be opened up to 360 degrees. These laptops come with a touchscreen. 

These types of laptops can be used more flexibly than clamshell laptops because they can also be used as tablets. If you are looking for a HP (Hewlett Packard) convertible laptop, there are several recommendations from the Pavilion, Envy, and Spectre families that you can consider. Let's take a look at them one by one.

1. HP Pavilion x360 (Intel Core i3)

The first option is the HP Pavilion x360 with code 14-ek0113Tu. This laptop is powered by an Intel Core i3 12th generation processor with a 1215U series, paired with an Intel UHD Graphics processor and 8 GB DDR4 3200 MHz (onboard) RAM.

For storage, HP has equipped it with a 512 GB SSD. The screen uses an IPS panel with a 14-inch diagonal, a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (Full HD), a brightness level of up to 250 nits, and a color range of 45 percent NTSC. On the top bezel of the screen, there is a 5 MP camera accompanied by two microphones. The power source is a 43Wh battery supported by a 63W wired charger.

In terms of port support, this laptop is equipped with a USB Type C, 2 USB Type A, HDMI, 3.5mm audio jack, AC Smart Pin, and microSD Card Reader. The laptop is available in only one color, Natural Silver, which covers the outer and inner parts including the keyboard; only the screen bezel is black. The price is $692, which includes an HP Stylus Pen worth $52.

2. HP Pavilion x360 (Intel Core i5)

If you are looking for a laptop with more powerful performance, you can consider the HP Pavilion x360, which is powered by an Intel Core i5 12th generation processor with a 1235U series, combined with an Intel Iris Xe Graphics processor.

In addition to that, the other specifications are the same as the model powered by Intel Core i3. The HP Pavilion x360 with an Intel Core i5 processor is available in two color options. The one in Natural Silver has the code 14-ek0114TU, while the one in Pale Rose Gold has the code 14-ek0115TU. The price is $856.

3. HP Pavilion x360 (Intel Core i7)

If you are looking for the toughest Pavilion family, the Pavilion x360 powered by an Intel Core i7 processor is the answer. Specifically, the processor that powers it is the 12th generation Intel Core i7 with the 1255U series. Its RAM capacity is 16GB, twice as much as the models powered by Core i3 and Core i5. Similar to models with Core i5 processors, models with Core i7 are also equipped with Intel Iris Xe Graphics graphics processors.

This model with an Intel Core i7 processor is also available in two color options, namely Natural Silver with code 14-ek0116TU and Pale Rose Gold with code 14-ek0117TU. The price for this series is around $1000.

4. HP Envy x360 (Intel Core i5)

The Envy family has only one model that is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor. The model has the code 13-bf0089TU and is powered by a 12th generation Intel Core i5 1230U processor with Intel Iris Xe Graphics as its graphics processor. In terms of memory, the laptop is equipped with 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD internal memory.

The screen is an IPS type with a 13.3 inch display, a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels (WUXGA), a brightness level of 400nits, and a 100 percent SRGB color range. Its power source is a 66Wh battery that supports fast charging of 65W via USB Type C, instead of AC Smart Pin. Available ports include 2 USB Type C Thunderbolt 4, 2 USB Type A, 3.5 mm audio jack, and a microSD Card Reader.

There is only one color option available (Natural Silver). The price is about $1,120.

5. HP Envy x360 (Intel Core i7)

The HP Envy family also comes with enhanced performance with the 12th generation Intel Core i7 processor, specifically the 1250U series. There are three models available with the Intel Core i7.

The models with code 13-bf0042TU and 13-bf0043TU have a Natural Silver and Space Blue body respectively, and have the same screen specifications as the 13-bf0089TU model. The 13-bf0107TU model also has a 13.3 inch screen with 100% SRGB color range, but with an OLED panel with a resolution of 18800 x 2880 pixels (2.8K).

The screen has a brightness level of up to 400nits in SDR mode and 500 nits in HDR mode. The internal memory capacity is also larger at 1 TB. The prices for the HP Envy 13-bf0042TU and 13-bf0043TU are $1,350, while the price for the 13-bf0107TU model is $1,514.

6. HP Spectre x360 (Intel Core i5)

The Spectre family includes the Spectre x360 14-ef0063TU, which is powered by an Intel Core i5 1235U processor and comes with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD.

The display is a 13.5-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1280 x 1920 pixels (WUXGA+), a brightness level of 400nits, and 100% SRGB color range. The device has 2 Thunderbolt 4 USB Type C ports, a USB Type A port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a microSD Card Reader.

It runs on a 65Wh battery that is supported by a 65W charger and comes in one color option, Night Fall Black. The price is around $1,516.

7. HP Spectre x360 (Intel Core i7)

In addition to the Intel Core i5 variant, the HP Spectre x360 is also available in an Intel Core i7 1255U variant, with three models available. The 14-ef0003TU model comes with an OLED display with a 13.5-inch screen and a resolution of 2000 x 3000 pixels (3K), 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The 14-ef0006TU model also comes with the same screen and RAM as the 14-ef0003TU, but with a 2TB SSD.

The 14-ef0005TU model has twice the RAM of the other two models, 32GB, but the screen specifications are the same as the 14-ef0063TU model with the Intel Core i5 processor. Other specifications for the three models with Intel Core i7 are the same as the Intel Core i5 model.

All three models come in Night Fall Black color only, the price of the OLED models 14-ef0003TU and 14-ef0006TU are $1,779 and $1,977 respectively, while the 14-ef0005TU model with 32GB RAM is priced at $1,845.

All of the 2-in-1 laptop recommendations above use the latest Intel Core processors from the 12th generation which of course are still quite tough for use in the next few years.
