In the world of smartphones, the rivalry between Samsung and Apple is a story of its own. Each brand has its own segment and even dedicated fans.
Both Apple and Samsung strive to create the most advanced smartphone technologies possible.
For instance, Apple is currently preparing for the launch of one of their latest iPhones, the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Will the arrival of the iPhone 15 Pro Max tempt Samsung users to switch to Apple?
According to leaks, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is said to feature the same camera and technology as its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Regarding the technology and camera, it will include a 48 MP camera with a Sony IMX803 sensor.
Previously, there were rumors that the iPhone 15 Pro Max might utilize the new Sony IMX903 sensor.
Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will maintain a similar display panel to the iPhone 14 Pro series.
The mentioned display panel is the M12 OLED panel, without any increase in brightness or new technologies.
However, the dimensions of the iPhone 15 Pro Max might not be exactly the same as the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max will have slightly smaller dimensions, measuring 159.8 millimeters in length and 76.6 millimeters in width.
In contrast, the iPhone 14 Pro Max measures 160.7 millimeters in length and 77.6 millimeters in width.
One potential improvement in the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the inclusion of a periscope telephoto camera with 6x optical zoom, which will be exclusive to this phone and not available in the regular Pro version.
In terms of charging, the iPhone 15 series is rumored to support USB Type-C charging.
Previously, Apple component supplier Cirrus Logic hinted at the cancellation of the solid-state button in the iPhone 15 Pro, replacing the conventional volume and power buttons.
Initially, the solid-state button was expected to make its debut on the phone's launch in 2023.
The solid-state button is a touch-sensitive button that provides haptic feedback, giving users a physical button-like experience.
According to the component supplier, the product to be introduced in the fall will not be marketed as previously planned.
This product refers to HPMS or "high-performance, mixed-signal," where Cirrus Logic includes a haptic driver for the Taptic Engine in the iPhone.
If Apple doesn't cancel the introduction of the solid-state button, the iPhone 15 Pro will come with two additional Taptic Engines.
Meanwhile, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously hinted that the iPhone 15 Pro would not feature the solid-state button due to unresolved technical issues before mass production.
This means the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to have physical volume and power buttons that can be clicked as usual.
Nevertheless, it is still anticipated that the iPhone 15 Pro will introduce an "Action" button to replace the ring/mute button.
Apple is unlikely to give up on introducing the solid-state button in their products. If the button is not included in the iPhone 15 Pro, analyst Jeff Pu predicts it might be introduced in the iPhone 16 Pro.
So, Samsung users, does this leak pique your interest?
