Vivo in the foldable line is working on the X Fold+, while the X line is also working on a new product. Vivo just launched the Vivo X80 smartphone series in April this year in China. Now Vivo X90 Pro 5G with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is ready to go.
The Chinese manufacturer is also working on the X90 series for the Chinese market. A secret leak from China has leaked some specifications of the Vivo X90 Pro variant.
A new leak states that the Vivo X90 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which isn't surprising as some of the upcoming flagship phones are likely to feature the SoC. As far as the SD8G2 is concerned, it is expected to launch during the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit event, which will be held in November.
The Vivo X90 Pro leak further states that the device will arrive with 100W fast charging support. Meanwhile, the battery capacity is larger than the X80 Pro which is packed with a 4.700 mAh battery. It is likely that the X90 Pro can accommodate a battery with a capacity of around 5.000 mAh.
For photography, the device will feature a 1-inch camera sensor. The competitor Xiaomi 12S Ultra, which was unveiled in August in China, is the first smartphone in the world have feature a 1-inch camera sensor. The device is equipped with Sony IMX989.
It's unclear, if Vivo X90 Pro has the same main camera. At the end of the leak, it is said that the X90 Pro camera will be a periscope zoom camera.
There is no news regarding the launch date of the Vivo X90 series. If the Vivo X80 lineup debuts in the second quarter of 2022 in China, it is likely that the X90 lineup will launch around the same time next year.
Several Chinese flagship phones such as the Xiaomi 13 series and the OnePlus 11 Pro 5G are expected to debut earlier than their predecessors. So, it is possible that the Vivo X90 line could come out as early as the first quarter of 2023.
