10 important but hidden iPhone Features
1. Hide programs that are not in use
Want to remove unused apps from your home screen without uninstalling? Just save it to your app library.
To do this, tap and hold the app you want to hide, tap Remove app from the pop-up menu, and select Move to app library. If you want to do more than just hide apps on your iPhone, you can uninstall them.
2. Run apps faster
When you search for an app through the app library or the default search tool, iPhone predicts the best match and places it at the top of the results.
If it's the program you want, you can open it right away by pressing Go on your keyboard.
3. Search the Internet without a browser
There's no need to open Safari or another web browser to search for anything online. Just go to the Search tab, enter the keyword you want to search for, and open the results directly from the page.
4. For faster charging
For fast charging, you can turn on airplane mode while charging. This can temporarily stop iPhone background noise (such as web notifications and GPS roaming) that tends to drain the battery while charging.
5. Get more storage space
Want to increase your iPhone storage space? Clear your phone's RAM to reduce the space that apps can use.
If you have an iPhone with a Home button, the process is quick and easy: just hold down the Power button, wait for the option to turn the phone on and off, then hold down the Home button.
There's an extra step for the new iPhones with Face ID. First, enable Assistive Touch in Settings by opening Accessibility, scrolling down to Touch, and enabling Assistive Touch.
Then hold the Power button and the Volume button until you see the option to turn the phone on and off. Touch the Assistive Touch icon (gray circle), then hold the home button. If you still need more space, try resetting your iPhone to factory settings.
6. Make the screen smaller
If you want to type with one hand, try moving the iPhone keyboard closer to your left or right hand. The trick is to press and hold the language icon in the lower left corner and then select the keyboard.
To make the iPhone screen easy to reach with one hand, you can lower it halfway. You just need to swipe down from the bottom edge of the screen. This will make the entire screen much more accessible to the hand.
7. Find out what your phone knows about you
In Settings, go to Privacy and then Location Services. Click System Services, then scroll down to Places of Interest to see the places you've been and how long you've spent there.
You can clear your location history by clicking Clear History, and you can turn off Landmarks at the top.
8. Erase the text manually
To quickly delete what you just typed in the Messages or Notes app, just shake your phone. The Cancel option will appear.
You can swipe left with three fingers to delete text and swipe right with three fingers to restore it.
9. Use Measure as a home tool
Opening the Measure app activates two very handy tools: a digital level and a tape measure. The application uses augmented reality to measure the size and dimensions of objects, shows the angle of inclination of the surface and even takes measurements through the phone's camera.
10. Backspace in the Calculator application
If you enter a wrong number in the iPhone Calculator app, simply swipe left or right to delete what you just entered. The calculator will remember what's left to enter, so you don't have to start over.
